Chris started hooking in the 1980's with Norma Gillette as the “High Desert Rug Hookers” in Bend, Oregon and took formal class instruction from Ann Jeter and Margaret Dahlquist hosted by the museum. Chris is currently the Director of Western McGown Teachers' Workshop in Eugene, Oregon. She is a certified McGown teacher and sponsor, teaching classes in Oregon and at her home studio in Idaho, and, new this year, classes in California. She has enjoyed coming to Friends By The Sea Rug Hooking Camp for over 25 years. Chris teaches all aspects of rug hooking and especially enjoys presenting different and unique finishing touches. In her class, part of each day will include a new group teaching segment and discussion. Her goal for the week is to guide each of her students into feeling confident with their choices of color, design, technique and the real possibility that this will be their best yet.
